Importing RIS creates a "primo_RIS_Export" folder for each import

How do I import with RIS and not create a new folder every time. Even when I have added this article or book to my main folder, if I then delete the extra RIS folder, it then deletes it out of all collections. You can see in my screenshot all the RIS folders created with each import...How do I get around this, so that I do not end up with 50 extra folders?

Thank you
  • Uncheck the option "Place imported collections and items into new collection" in the import dialog (2nd window)

  • But also, Zotero has direct import from Primo discovery layers via the browser connector that should in most cases be better than the RIS import
  • Hello Both

Thank you both for your quick reply.

As I am completely new to Zotero, I am still not sure what to do.

When I import, there is no Options window that comes up and as I click through Zotero menus I cannot find this window.

Also I like the sound of Zotero having direct import from Primo discovery layers via the browser connector, but unfortunately aside from browser connector I have no idea what any of this means. Therefore I do not even know where to start with this.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this RIS import without the mess I am making?

Again I really appreciate the help
