Zotero Connector exports my webpage as a "journal article" type

I work on a project with an online glossary. Today I'm trying to fix the metadata so that Zotero Connector exports a nice citation for people who visit the site and want to cite it. So far so good, but I've got one last problem: it always exports as "journal article" instead of "webpage". The only suggestion I could find is to add a meta tag with citation_type: 'webpage'. Needless to say, that didn't work. What else can I try?

I have. That's where I started. Turns out that the Highwire approach doesn't seem to provide a method for reliably specifying item type, but Dublin Core does. Switching to the Dublin Core approach allowed me to solve the problem completely.

Yeah, the highwire tags are really designed for standard scholarly works (articles, chapters, books), they won't work for websites.
