Zotero app will not launch. Uninstall/re-install/update/restart did not fix
Zotero 7.0.9_x64
Windows 10 Enterprise
I first noticed a communication error when trying to insert a reference into a Word doc using the Word plugin which prompted a communication error (I don't remember what exactly the error said, but it was different than the current "Word could not communicate with Zotero..." error). Everything was working fine yesterday. The Zotero app was open, Word just couldn't pull a reference for some reason. I restarted Zotero and Word, still couldn't import a reference. So I updated Zotero, and now it won't launch. Rebooted the computer, nothing changed. Uninstalled Zotero entirely, restarted computer, re-downloaded from the website, reinstalled again, restarted again, still no launch.
The installation was done with admin access into Program Files. I encountered the same issue if I downloaded locally without admin privileges. The local AppData Zotero folder is empty.
Even after uninstalling, the dialog box during the new installation said there was currently a 32-bit version installed that would be replaced with the 64-bit. But at the same time I can't restore a previous version because "there are no previous versions available"
Can anyone help?
