Cursor focus - annotation note text

When tapping a text highlight the note entry dialogue box opens. However, the cursor focus is not in the text field of the dialogue box. Is this how this function should behave? I expected that opening the note dialogue box would be sufficintly clear a motive to have the cursor/focus be directly in the text field ready to accept text input.
Thanks very much
  • It seems there's a regression, and it no longer focuses on an annotation comment when clicking on a newly created annotation or an annotation without a comment. I assume this is what you're referring to. We'll fix it.
  • Yes, that's right.

Thanks very much, @martynas_b, stellar stuff!

Seconding the praise, this is excellent and I'm impressed to see this kind of response. Thank you so much for Zotero 7!

P.S. In my case, clicking on a highlighted or underlined text (that has no comment yet) actually does seem to focus on the text field. At least most of the time, sometimes I have to click twice. (That is quite efficient with moving my mouse and focus of my eyes.) I'm finding the issue OP had more consistently with "sticky notes" and selected areas.

  • This should be fixed in Zotero 7.0.9.
