Zotero 1.0.10 incompatible with Firefox 3.6

I believe it must have happened when upgrading Firefox to the 3.6 version. Zotero 1.0.10 is not to be seen anymore. I understand now that this 'old' version of Zotero is not compatible with the Firefox 3.6. Now, it would let me upgrade the Zotero plug-in to the newest 2.0 version. But Zotero informs of the risks of loosing information when upgrading. Of course I didn't back anything up in a long time :(

So I figured maybe I should downgrade Firefox. BUT then I am not sure if I completely reinstall to an older version of Firefox if I loose completely my Zotero information. It's my lack of knowledge how these extensions work .. my absolutely unclear about it. So, upgrading means I could loose everything -- same could be when downgrading Firefox?

How should I proceed and run the least risk?
