Sharing file links through a group library?

Hi,

I just created a group library so I could share some references with my colleagues, but it seems that I cannot attach links to these group library references to connect them to the files we have on our shared drive. Is there a way to get around this? Basically, I'm trying to share not only references but LINKS that connect these references and relevant documents. (I'm avoiding attaching the files themselves as that takes up space and we already have a shared drive for file-sharing).
