My PDFs are Gone

Hello,

I went to open an old file that I had saved, and the app said it could not find the PDF. The exact message (with brackets in place for where different messages pop up for other files) is below.



"The attached file could not be found at the following path: C:\Users\[Me]\Zotero\storage\KB69SYCB\[file name].pdf It may have been moved or deleted outside of Zotero, or, if the file was added on another computer, it may not yet have been synced to zotero.org."



I ran out of storage and I just upgraded my plan yesterday, but I still cannot find my files. I saw that people can purge their Zotero, but I did not do that.

What can I do to restore my files?

    The message means what it says. You likely added the file on another computer, and since you were at your storage quota, it was never uploaded. Upgrading now doesn't do anything on its own — you need to sync the computer where the files exist so that the files are uploaded.
