What affects syncing speed?
I started syncing ~20k (RIS-converted and -imported) Google Scholar items yesterday, and it ONLY did about 3,000 over a 10-hour period (on Zotero 7, 64-bit). Because it was going so slowly, I opened the debug output window. After those 10 hours, I decided to exit Zotero and restart it (it also updated automatically). And after that, it downloaded the remaining 17k in about an hour. So this leads me to the following questions:
- does viewing the debug output slow down syncing?
- is there any way we can (manually?) allocate more memory to this process?
- are there any other tips or tricks for syncing larger groups as expeditiously and effectively as possible?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
