Recovering closed tabs on desktop software?

Thanks in advance anyone who could advise on this - I had a dozen or so PDFS open in my Zotero software that I was slowly going through reading, one by one. Then my computer automatically updated and when I opened the Zotero app again afterward, all the PDF tabs had disappeared, i.e. they had closed; the software was essentially refreshed. All my documents and notes are still in the app, to be clear. But I'm wondering if there's any way to track the history of which PDFs were open at the time Zotero restarted? Any advice on if this data on open tabs would have been stored in any way?

Open tabs should always be restored when Zotero is restarted. I'm afraid I can't really tell you why that wouldn't have happened — that's not something we've had any reports of. (The data is stored in session.json on your Zotero profile folder.)
