Underlining text in Zotero 7 not backwards compatible

Hello, I just upgraded to Zotero 7, and I now see a new "underline" feature, which is indeed very useful. However, I realize that this feature is not backwards compatible with Zotero 6, which I have installed in my work laptop. Are there any plans to support it on older versions of Zotero, or it would be better to upgrade to Zotero 7 moving forward?
