Migrating PDFs from Mendeley to Zotero with ZotMoov: Linking Existing Files to References

I’m in the process of migrating my files from Mendeley to Zotero. All my PDFs are stored locally in a folder named "Mendeley" on my computer. My goal is to move these files to Zotero and have them accessible via cloud storage. I’ve already installed ZotMoov to manage attachments across devices.

Here’s where I’m encountering a problem: ZotMoov only organizes new files added to Zotero, but I need to move my existing files from Mendeley. Additionally, not all my PDFs are properly linked to references in Mendeley Desktop anymore. When I updated the Mendeley Desktop app, it stopped linking reference information with the corresponding PDFs in the file organizer.

Currently, I can import the reference information from Mendeley into Zotero, but the associated PDFs are still just sitting in the "Mendeley" folder on my computer.

My question is: Can I import the references from Mendeley into Zotero and then move the PDF files into a folder managed by ZotMoov, ensuring Zotero can recognize and link the PDFs to the imported references? I’m wondering if renaming the folders and files to match the author and title structure in ZotMoov might help. The challenge is getting Zotero to recognize and search through the ZotMoov folder structure to match the references with the PDFs.

Has anyone encountered this issue, and is there a way to make Zotero automatically link these PDFs after they’ve been moved to the ZotMoov directory?
