Grouping Annotation

Is it possible to "group" annotations. For example, in this sentence, "Financial assets are frequently defined in terms of their return and risk characteristics", I'm highlighting the "Financial Assets" and "Return and Risk Characteristics". Currently, this creates two annotations, is it possible to group them without highlighting the whole sentence?
