Citations flattening on document sharing
Hello,
Anytime I share my word file (.docx and not .doc) via email or drive and then redownload it, the citations becomes flattened. This has happened to me multiple time even though my collaborators only edited the text in Word without adding/changing the citations. When i receive the file, everything is unliked.
I have been plagued by this issue for a few months now and it is almost making me reconsider using zotero despite my love for it. Appreciate any help.

adomasvenIf your colleagues are using gmail, they may be opening the file with Google Docs, then downloading it there. If they do, the citations would get flattened. Make sure the citations are still there when your colleagues get the files by having them enable field shading For more general ideas see Existing Citations Not Detected.
