Bug: Zotero Web not showing epub text properly
Device: iPhone XS Max
iOS Version: 18.0.0
Browser: Safari
Extensions: Disabled
Content Blockers: Disabled
Privacy Features: Disabled
JavaScript: Enabled
Basically, some ePubs are rendered properly while some are rendered with blank lines (image attached).
When I first load the ePub, the first page is find. However, next and previous pages are rendered blank.
The highlights are visible in proper colors. The ToC loads properly and notes as well. It’s something to do with WebKit beacuse it works well on Firefox for Android.
Update 1: The problem persists in other browsers as well in both landscape and portrait orientation.
Update 2: Still persists when I request a desktop site.
Update 3: Persists in both dark and light mode
Update 4: It’s more frequent in ePub files that are > 2 MB. It’s also more frequent in files that has complex structure like lots of code snippets, tables, more clutter markups etc.
Update 5: Still persists after enabling all the advanced JS and CSS features in the Safari settings.

AbeJellinekThanks, got it. This appears to be a Safari layout engine bug, but we'll try to find a workaround.
