Want sources only in a specific subfolder

Good afternoon. Is there any way to have sources show up ONLY in a specific subfolder? Right now, I have the exact same list of sources in the parent folder and a subfolder of the parent. I've verified the advanced setting "extensions.zotero.recursiveCollections" is set to false, and the I'm still seeing all of my sources in both folders. I modified it to true then back to false on the off chance that may fix the problem, but no luck. Thanks for any info you can provide!

Make sure View\Show Items From Subcollections is OFF.

If that setting is OFF and you are seeing items in a given collection, the most likely explanation is that they are actually in that collection. You can confirm if items are actually in a collection as follows:

If you wish to remove items from a collection, select the items(s) and then right-click/select Remove Item(s) From Collection.

I'm guessing the top level folder is My Library? Items are _always_ in My Library. Collections do not behave like folders. https://www.zotero.org/support/collections_and_tags#the_zotero_collections_model
