Feedback on Zotero PDF Viewer and Dark Theme

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Zotero team for the improvements made to the PDF preview window in the Zotero 7 latest version. It’s fantastic that we can now use half the screen for previewing and skimming through PDFs. I particularly enjoy using the dark theme, but I’ve encountered a small issue: even in dark mode, the side margins of the PDF viewer remain white. As I’m using a 30-inch external monitor, the bright white sides can be quite glaring.

Would it be possible to adjust the side margins to match the dark theme, making them black or a similar darker color? This would greatly enhance the overall viewing experience.

Additionally, it would be incredibly useful to have a quick toggle button for switching the PDF background color. For long reading sessions, a darker or more eye-friendly background could be a better option, while the default white background might still be preferred for regular use. In Zotero 6, the "Theme" plugin had such a button, and it was very convenient (as shown in the attanched pictures).

I hope this feedback reaches the team, and I look forward to seeing even more new features in future updates!
