Zotero local sorage

I have been using Zotero for a couple of decades and have over 10,500 items, most with PDF. I pay for unlimited storage on Zotero (cloud), but I do not want all items in my local storage on my laptop (currently they take up 32.6GB). How can I configure it to be on demand only for local storage and then how could I have all items in the Zotero cloud by default? thnx- Jacek

Like the Download file as needed option? (https://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/sync#file_syncing). Or I maybe misunderstood the question.

Thanks, I just deleted a good part of PDF (in their folders) with older dates, and I can see that now I can dowload them on demand
