Upgrade Storage[Feature Discussion/Request] Zotero 7: Better Annotation Comments with Markdown Support?
Hey everyone!
I’ve got to say, Zotero 7 is working amazingly well! The new features are fantastic. But I’ve always found myself running into some trouble when it comes to taking notes with Zotero. Essentially, I have two main ways to take notes:
1. Item/All Notes
2. Annotation Comments

With Item/All Notes, we can jump to the highlighted annotation from the notes and it support Markdown, but there’s no easy way to check the related notes directly from the annotation/highlight itself.
On the other hand, Annotation Comments allow us to view comments by clicking on the highlighted annotation, but the editor is quite limited, only supporting basic rich text formatting.
So, I was wondering, would it be possible to improve the annotation comment editor with a better WYSIWYG editor that supports Markdown (similar to what we have in item notes)?
Or, what do you guys think about the idea of merging the item notes directly into the annotation comments? That way, instead of having scattered notes and comments in different places, we could keep everything together in one spot.
