Word plugin issue: citation numbering out of order, can't be refreshed/updated
I have a document that has been through multiple rounds of editing with track changes, which may be what caused the issue initially. Track changes has since been turned off with all changes accepted.
It seems like the Zotero plugin has a fixed ordered list of my references that cannot be updated. Currently, my in-text references go from 1, 2, 3, 4 to 13 suddenly. So references 5-12 are still in my bibliography but are cited later in the text.
I've tried...
- refreshing citations
- checking and unchecking "keep sources sorted"
- editing individual citations
- deleting the bibliography and refreshing citations
- switching between citation styles
- closing and reopening the document
- copy and pasting the text to a new document
Nothing fixes the problem, although sometimes 13 becomes 43.
Is there anything I haven't tried that would help? I have over 100 citations and the only way I can think to fix it is to unlink my references and manually enter them all again.
