Upgrade StorageLocal file path in url does not work
Hi I am using Zotero 7.0.5, with MacBook Pro macOS Sonoma Version 14.6.1.
I am trying to make url work for local file path. While same path works in browser when tried & tested. e.g file:///Users/Apple/Documents/IFR Darrell Mann/Ezine/iss 00 Dec 01.pdf (it opens the file correctly).
Online link like example http://systematic-innovation.com works correctly. See this image where it shows hyperlink is there.

But in Zotero local file path does not even recognise that it is hyperlink. See attached file which does not even recognise there is hyperlink.

Can anyone tell me in layman's term what I can try to resolve this issue. I do not want to use attachment link.
I tried Chatgpt to give me clear instructions as to what could be corrected to solve it. Each step tried it, tested as per instructions, it works in browser but does not work in Zotero. In conclusions tells me to use attachment link as more reliable way. Any help as to what am I missing or doing incorrect.

adamsmithChatGPT is terrible for most things Zotero. Don't waste your time. The URL field is.for links to be included in citations and so doesn't take file:// links. There's nothing you can do about that, I'm afraid
