[Feature Request] Subitems
At first congratulations, Zotero is a great tool.
My wish is this: I have items of type book, with PDFs and epub as attachments. Now I would like to be able to create book sections while reading in the reader, similar to annotations. Something like this: I mark a passage at some point. Below the item in the collection, a subitem (like a note) is created that refers to the same attachment and begins with the page number of the selection. The page number at which it ends can also be entered.
It would be nice to have two different types to choose from:
1.) Essay/Article: This type has its own title, authors and language. The typical use case would be an anthology.
2) Chapter/Passage: This type only has a text field in addition to the page numbers of the beginning and end. It can be created as often as required, even overlapping.
Subitems should also be able to be dragged into other collections/subcollections. I often have thematic subcollections and would like to make suitable passages from texts visible there that actually belong to a different topic. (It would also be great if this were also possible with notes from annotations.)
