Style update request: Journal of Vegetation Science

Just noticed that Journal of Vegetation Science has changed their reference style since 2015, when the Zotero style was last updated. Could it please be updated as follows:

In the text, articles with the same author and year should be separated by lowercase letters after the year:
Jones et al. (2019a; 2019b)
(currently Zotero separates papers by listing more authors)

In the reference list, the new format is as follows:
Author, F.M. (year) Article title. Journal Name, volume, page–range. https://doi.org/DOI
If there are eight or more authors, only the first six are listed, followed by et al.
Differences to earlier format:
-- Year is in parentheses (was followed by a full stop before).
-- Volume is separated by commas on both sides (was followed by a colon before).
-- doi has been added.
-- All authors used to be listed.

Journal guidelines are here:

Thanks in advance!
  • Thanks for reporting.
I've drafted a PR. Can you test this and let me know what's missing?
A numbered list, naming the item type with a "Current vs wanted" comparison, with concrete examples, would be ideal.

  • Thanks a lot!

Their general instruction is that "References should follow the Harvard referencing style". I noticed two things that still need to be updated.

    1) Current in-text citation:
(Tuomisto, Ruokolainen, Aguilar, et al., 2003; Tuomisto, Poulsen, et al., 2003; Tuomisto, Ruokolainen, & Yli-Halla, 2003)
    wanted:
    (Tuomisto et al., 2003a, 2003b, 2003c)
where lettering follows the order in which the articles appear in the reference list.

    2) Current reference list entry:
    Slik, F., Pinho, B.X., Griffith, D.M., Webb, E., Raghubanshi, A.S., Quaresma, A.C., Cuni Sanchez, A., Sultana, A., Souza, A.F., Ensslin, A., Hemp, A., Lowe, A., Marshall, A.R., Anitha, K., Lykke, A.M., Armadyanto, Mansor, A., Honam, A.K., Poulsen, A.D., Sparrow, B., Buckley, B.J.W., Ripoll Capilla, B., Albuquerque, B.W., Schmitt, C.B., Mohandass, D., Rocha, D.S.B., Sheil, D., Pérez-García, E.A., Catharino, E., van den Berg, E., Rutishauser, E., Brambach, F., Saiter, F.Z., Senbeta, F., Wittmann, F., Rovero, F., Mora Ardila, F., Bongers, F., Fredriksson, G.M., Rutten, G., Imani, G., Aymard Corredor, G.A., Durigan, G., Shukla, G., Williams-Linera, G., Culmsee, H., Segah, H., Granzow-de la Cerda, I., Singh, J.S., Grogan, J., Reitsma, J., Bastin, J.-F., Lindsell, J., Millet, J., Roberto dos Santos, J., Schoengart, J., Vandermeer, J.H., Herbohn, J., Lovett, J., Meave, J.A., Roberto Rodrigues Pinto, J., Montero, J.C., Ruokolainen, K., Mahmud, K.B., Demarchi, L.O., Poorter, L., Bernacci, L., Satdichanh, M., Seiji Suganuma, M., Piedade, M.T.F., Niun, M.A., Harrison, M.E., Schulze, M., Fischer, M., Kessler, M., Castillo, M., Hussain, M.S., Libalah, M.B., Imron, M.A., Parthasarathy, N., Seuaturien, N., Targhetta, N., Mahayani, N.P.D., Pitman, N.C.A., Rangel, O., Munishi, P., Balvanera, P., Ashton, P., Parolin, P., da Conceição Bispo, P., Davidar, P., Sukri, R., Zakaria, R., Prasad, R.C., Chaturvedi, R.K., Steinmetz, R., Muñoz, R., Zakaria, R.M., DeWalt, S.J., Van Sam, H., Rolim, S., Mukul, S.A., Maimunah, S., Sarker, S.K., Sunderland, T., Gillespie, T., van Andel, T., Van Do, T., Chutipong, W., Zang, R., Yang, X., Lu, X., Laumonier, Y., & Hemati, Z. • Thanks a lot! I'll come back to you if the journal has complaints about the formatting :-)
