Zotero 7 using high memory on M1 Mac
As the image shows, when I open only three PDF files, it takes more than 3GB of memory. I wonder if this is normal. When I open these PDF files with other apps like Preview or others, they only take hundreds of MB.

martynas_b Zotero TeamDo you get that memory usage immediately after restarting Zotero and opening any three PDF files, or do you need to do something more to reach that memory usage?

SuperheroF@martynas_b When I first restart Zotero with three PDF files, it takes around 1.8 GB of memory. As I start scrolling the pages, the memory begins to increase. After doing this with three PDF files, the memory usage will finally be around 3.x GB. I have seen similar questions in other discussions and learned that the internal PDF viewer in Zotero is based on Firefox. However, when I open the three PDFs and scroll up and down in Firefox browser, the memory usage is only about 800M. I only have the Translate for Zotero plugin https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-pdf-translate#readme

martynas_b Zotero TeamThe issue of high memory usage when scrolling large PDF files should be fixed in the latest beta.
