cannot save metadata for citations

I am unable to ensure that the Zotero Connector saves the metadata rather than the PDF or URL. I am using a Mac. I have seen the other discussion posts about this and am still unable to do it. Please help.

If the other posts have not been useful for you, maybe we can start with a practical case. Can you provide an example URL and tell us what is captured on your machine?
