Add all articles in Journal/Anthology

Would it be possible to have a new Item Type, Journal Articles?

Often all articles in a journal are of interest but I have to enter them separately. I think the usual indexes provide the information Zotero would need?

Maybe the name is wrong: it would be helpful if it included festschrift/anthology books of articles by individual authors too.

My interest is archaeology/history, btw.

I note https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/461556#Comment_461556 but this doesn't seem to be what's (increasingly despairingly) discussed there.
  • There's going to be an item type "Serial" or "Journal" eventually that should cover both individual issues and whole runs. One of the problems with the other thread is that people are talking about at least 3 different things there.
  • Thanks! It'll help a lot.

Sooner rather than later, please. In fact, it would probably be quicker to do my idea, and then delete unneeded entries, than enter them individually.
  • Wait, maybe I'm understanding this incorrectly -- you just want all items from a journal issue added to Zotero individually? You can typically already do that -- do you have an example?
  • Ah, is my ignorance showing? Hurray, if so.

    Try these:

    Britannia, Volume 50 - November 2019
    and
    Lucerna 63, July 2022
  • Unless I'm misunderstanding, go to the landing page for the volume:
    https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/britannia/volume/188BCA84E8110E2EE2D0BF3385C70368

click the "Add to Zotero" folder icon in your browser and save all items, you'll need to to this 3 times for the first item, but that's still pretty quick. If you do this a _lot_ you'll get locked out by the publisher -- in some cases, using right-click on the Save to Zotero icon and then selecting DOI will work (it doesn't on Cambridge, though).

For Lucerna, there's just no structured publishing information anywhere I can see, so Zotero can't import individual articles or whole volumens.
  • Now I see!

Gosh that's neat, I'd no idea.

It doesn't work with anthologies does it? On online indexes like RI OPAC?

Yes it does! Thanks a lot Adam, I've been using Save to Zotero for years and I'd no idea.
