A lighter variant of Zotero to simply annotate PDFs?
Zotero is the best scientific tool that exists. It is much more than a traditional PDF reader with annotation capabilities. However, **Zotero PDF annotation capabilities are one of the best, if not the best available**. It is down to opinion, but as good as PDFexpert and Skim. Margin Note 4 does better PDF annotation, but suffers from feature bloating and does not export PDFs with annotations as expected.
So the question is: **is there a "Zotero brother" (or sister), which has less functionality but does what a PDF reader would do?** Like, open a file, add highlights, notes, etc. then save it with the annotations.
Thanks for the great work done by the Zotero team.
