Help in filtering related papers

Hi,

I did a medline search and generated 3000+ papers. However, I wish to delete majority of these papers which are not relevant to my work. I can do this by reading the abstract and manually deleting every paper but it is going to take a long time. I tried to do my tag but realise the deleting the tag does not delete the paper associated with the tag. Is there a more efficient way to do this? Any help is appreciated!

Thank you.
  • If you wish to delete all items with a particular tag ...
1 Select the top My Library level in the Collections pane.
2 Select the tag in the Tag Selector pane, which will display all the items with that tag in the main pane.
3 Ctrl+A to select all items
    4 Right-click Move Items to Bin/Trash.

  • Hi Tim,

Thank you for your reply. That is useful.

May I find out if there is a way to delete papers associated with multiple tags?
    For example,
    Paper 1 has tag A
    Paper 2 has tag B

This is so when I select tags A and B, I can delete both papers at the same time. I understand that Zotero only displays Paper 1 when I select tag A.

    Thank you.
  • If you select multiple tags in the Tag Selector then displayed items must have *all* those tags. So in your example case you would instead need to select tag A, delete the displayed items, then repeat the process for tag B.

  • I see. I guess there's no other way.

    Thank you very much.
  • Actually you could do an Advanced Search for "ANY" for Tag is A and Tag is B.
  • oh right, that a great way. Thank you Tim!
