I updated to Z7.0.3 now. The source attachment files are renamed. But the attachment itself is still named “Full-Text-PDF” and similar. Is it just me or it’s the case with everyone ?
The list shows attachment title, not filename. Please read the link by dstillman above.
If you want to change attachment title, you can do that at the top of the item pane on the right side of the Zotero window, but the attachment name will not be the filename by default.
@josephatkinson In my opinion, by every measure, Zotero 7 is a big improvement over 6. And seeing attachment descriptions instead of filenames makes sense to me. At some point, Zotero 6 will not work and won't be safe to use.
In Zotero 6 the "attachment title" and the "filename" were in sync when we used the "Rename file from parent metadata" option.
I see the improvement in having the possibility of distinct attachment names but it would be nice to have an option to enable this sync (the Zotero 6 behaviour).
