version 7 Tag short cuts not shown in top item pane

Although I am able to colour code my tags, the short cut icons do not appear in the upper toolbar. How do you obtain this ? There seems to be no View options or preferences that allow for this, yet it is shown as though it is possible on the zotero home page.

Hi here is a screenshot of the Zotero website home page showing what I think is a short cut of coloured tags in top left pane and a non-greyed out arrow at top right presumably to allow other options

That's just a screenshot from a Mac. The stoplight buttons are the standard window controls that appear in every macOS window. Nothing to do with tags.

The arrow is the button to open the tabs menu. It will be active if you open any reader tabs.
