Zotero 7 title bar on linux

Is there a option to enable the system native title bar for linux/windows systems?
I run plasma with a global menu and the menu options now get covered by my top bar. See image attached.

The global menu didn't work in the last version and I just got used to it but it would be really nice if a "mac mode" option exists that exports a menu, enables the system title bar and removes the menu options from the main menu

  • Which distro and version? Do you see similar issues with Chrome, Firefox?
  • I am using plasma 6.1 as my desktop environment. Yes the same happen with chrome and firefox, but they give you the option to use the system native title bar, which fixes it (e.g. for firefox: rightclick on the toolbar -> customize toolbar -> set the tick in the bottom left).

There are even patches for firefox that export the menubar and integrate it into the system top bar (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/firefox-globalmenu), but that is not really necessary for me.

I would just really enjoy an option to split the title bar and menu bar just like in version 6 of zotero.
  • Was this an issue with previous versions of plasma?
  • This is not really a plasma issue, but yes, this also happens on plasma 5 together with latte dock (which was used back then as the top bar).
But since Zotero 6 didnt merge top and menu bar this was not a problem
  • I see the same behaviour in Kubuntu 24.04. An option to use the system native title bar like in Firefox would be great.
