zotero 7 - plugin for LibreOffice completely broken
Report ID: 1746483052
OS: Linux (Nobara 40; spin of Fedora 40)
LibreOffice: 1:24.2.5.2-2.fc40 (via repository; yum-extender)
Zotero 7 (via flatpak)
PROBLEM
- libre (with installed plugin) and zotero are running
- clicking on any button in libre associated with zotero closes zotero automatically; no message, no nothing, it just closes
TIMELINE
two weeks ago (2024-08-11) :
- everything works fine
next day (2024-08-11):
- update to Zotero 7
- couldn't install the plugin for Libre via GUI
- tried every step in troubleshooting
- nothing worked
- tried to reinstall some used programs/dependencies; didn't work at all and broke my complete system with this lol
- switched to windows for the time being
today (2024-08-29):
- reinstalled everything including fresh install of OS; same problem nothing changed
thanks in advance!

It works fine with the official tarball we distribute.
But the official version (the tarball) integrates with LibreOffice (flatpak in my case) without any issues.
Zotero instantly crashed when using it on Wayland after pressing the add reference button.
However, I did not experience this issue when I tried them on X11. But yeah, it would be great for Zotero if they would come up with an official flatpak.
