References disappear after upgrading one PC with Zotero 7

Just upgraded to Zotero 7.01 one my laptop- testing for our IT department. On my other PC the old version 6 ( not allowed to upgrade this one to 7 yet or upgrading to 7.01).

My zotero library is based on my extensive dropbox folders and subfolders with link to the pdf files.

Curiously after the upgrade, all folders and subfolders are shown, but contains no references- all references are gone with "no items on view".
But when accessing by ipad the folders and references are intact.

Are you saying all collections are empty, or just some? What about the library root?

Make sure you're not just looking for View → Show Items from Subcollections.

Beyond that, we'd want to see a Debug ID for Zotero startup, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option.
  • Thanks

All collections are empty on zotero 6 and 7- show items does not fix it. (but as mentioned available on ipad..)

I am new to this forum: Just Submitted with Debug ID D391516201- is this sufficient? ( or should I copy/paste the whole debug which is very long?)

You're running a version of Zotero from December 2022. You should install the latest version from the download page and figure out why you haven't received automatic updates in almost two years.

But also you moved tens of thousands of items to the trash in the last week. Assuming you didn't mean to do that, you should restore them from the trash.
  • Great thanks. Will contact IT-department- usually reluctant to upgrade to new versions, but should be possible to update to newest zotero 7 version on all PC's.
WIll then probably create a new library from scratch again, based on my many dropbox pdf files, as it need a overall cleaning.
Can I delete all items in the trash?
