There is no easy way to switch a document between the Nature family-style citations where there is a superscript and most other formats that use parentheses. This is because the space before citations is not a part of the citation, so it is not removed (for superscripts) or added (for parentheticals) as needed. I know that adding it to the citation could make zotero not back-compatible, but there must be some way this functionality could be added! Even just a button, that adds or removes spaces preceding citations? You can't even do it with find " (" replace "(" because the "(" is part of the citation and manually editing it breaks the links! I can't be the only person running into this problem again and again. And the last time I manually looked for and changed each and EVERY citation in a manuscript to have a space, and then a week later again to remove that space, is still too raw for me to talk about here!
