JurisM: Zotero Plugin shows in Word (MAC) but gives error
I cannot provide a Report ID. I attempted to file an Error Report and received the error: Error invalid response from repository. Nor was I able to submit a Debug Report to be able to provide a Debug ID, nothing would happen when I would select submit. I did take a screen shot of the report I can attach.
My operating system is macOS Sonoma Version 14.6.1 (23G93). And the JurisM version I have installed is 6.0.22m4.
I installed Jurism yesterday, created my account today and installed the Zotero Word(Mac) plugin. The plugin appears in my Word ribbon but gives me the following error each time I try to use it: Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again.
Steps to reproduce:
1. I start my laptop and open Jurism.
2. I open a new or saved word document.
3. I go to the Zotero ribbon and attempt to add a citation
4. I get the error: Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again.
I have gone through each and every one of the troubleshooting steps.
I am able to drag and drop citations into my word documents but I cannot use the plugin without getting an error message. I have followed each of the steps below and it has not corrected the issue. Please advise.
1. Restart your computer. Start Zotero before starting Word.
2. If the plugin still isn't working in Word, go to your Word Startup folder, delete Zotero.dotm, and restart Word to make sure that the plugin is completely gone from Word. Then reinstall the plugin.
3. Make sure that you're running Zotero as the same user as Word. Specifically, check to make sure neither program is running as administrator (right-click → Properties → Compatibility). For security and stability reasons, you should typically not run any software as administrator.
4. Temporarily disable any security software you're running, which could interfere with the connection between Word and Zotero.
