Upgrade StorageFixing Mojibake text? HELP.

I downloaded an ebook from Kindle and used Calibre to convert it to a PDF file and remove the DRM. The conversion worked, but I’m having an issue when I try to select and underline text in Adobe Acrobat or Zotero. Instead of the normal text, a series of random codes appears in the annotation tab, Mojibake text like: "KRZ WKH VWUDQJHQHVV DQG ZRQGHU O\LQJ MXVW EHORZ WKH VXUIDFH HYHQ LQ WKH FRPPRQHVW WKLQJV RI GDLO\ OLIH".
How can I fix this? Is it easy to do? I’m not a programmer and don’t have much technical knowledge.
