Any plan to make an official flatpak zotero package

Flatpak package is incresing in popularlity for packaging a linux desktop application. It supported by most linux distribution fedora, debian, ubuntu, etc. I saw many post about the issue for using zotero flatpak package including me. It would be nice to have zotero team build an flatpak package as an official image.
  • Agree 100%. This would make Zotero much easier to install than the current options, as well as providing security benefits.
  • I've been a Zotero user for several years on Windows. However, I migrated to linux. Several Linux distributions already use flatpaks as the default format in their app stores. I don't need to expose the various advantages of using this format. However, I don't know from a technical point of view how much additional work needs to be done to have an official flatpack of the project. The flathub itself has a verified seal that could be obtained by the zotero project and thus have more visibility. Thus, most of the forum complaints would cease to exist, since it occurs because of users who use a third-party flatpak. I imagine that the flatpak would have the advantage of downloading and using it than having to keep making manual adjustments.
  • Yeah, haha. That would be nice. New flatpak version after updating to Zotero 7 totally broke LibreOffice integration and flatpak users flood the forums.
Flatpak is easy to understand for noobs that have no idea and no concept of the round-about tarball version or whatever is the official way. Maybe this calamity would be some sort of signal for future Zotero development.
I too am using Flatpak version because it is easy to manage (for my newbie self).
  • It broke because of Wayland but I totally agree with having an official Flatpak for it.
On my Linux system I just installed it with the .deb supported by that community guy, however, I am not sure if I would know how to install it from tarball. The guide is just so complicated, I know I tried a couple of times and could not make it work.
But what happens if that guy stops maintaining the .deb? What about the others that are using more peculiar Linux distributions? I think we all know that Flatpak is the solution.
