I am a newbee. Installed pdftotext, but how to index?
Hi all. I am a newbee at Zotero. I have put two pdf files in a folder, for starters, in central centered zotero window. On the right side the "Indexed" status says No. So how do I index?

emoralesedited March 12, 2010I have drag other pdf files into the window and they seemed to be indexed automatically. These pdfs that do no index are not copies but actual 1999 papers. Is there any way to index pdfs that do no index themselves automatically?

anders_royceIf they have a text layer, you should be able to index them by right clicking on the PDF and then reindex item, or by clicking the green arrows next to "No" in the right hand window. However, if they were not automatically indexed, they may not have a text layer to be searchable.

emoralesYes Anders, thank you. I understand now.
