Zotero 7, beta 114: RTF scan dialog translation or localizing issues

edited August 7, 2024
The RTF scan dialog looks like this using the English locale:

However, for the Norwegian locale it looks like this:

Notice that the title in English is "Introduction" while in Norwegian the title is "Welcome to the". There are no strings to translate that has "Welcome to the" as the string in Transifex. Has this string been properly localized?
  • Fixed in beta 115, thank you!
  • Are you sure? We didn't change actually anything related to this.
  • Yes, this is a screenshot from beta 115:

So, whatever has happened, it shows the correct term in the dialog now. I will check the next beta build if there are any changes. But so far, all good!

Problem is back in beta 116, that is, it looks the same as the image for Norwegian in beta 114. BUT, after moving Zotero from one screen to another, I get the result from beta 115. Closing the program and then opening it again it reverts to the problematic beta 114. One display is 3840 x 2400 at 250 %, the other is 2560 x 1440 at 100 % scaling, Windows 11.
  • It’s not the version. It’s something else about how you’re opening it, or some fluke of timing.
  • @haraldaa: Yeah, this is just a timing issue, so it will just happen intermittently. We'll fix.
  • Thank you. After testing some more it seems to be the first time the dialog is opened that the wrong text is displayed. Opening the RTF-scan dialog the second time it shows the correct heading in the dialog.
  • Fixed in 7.0.1-beta.3
