merge citation

How can I put several citations in one parentheses? Some time I need to cite several papers in the same place, but zotero always adds parentheses to each of them.

    click the "multiple sources" button in the plugin window.

    I can add multiple citations this way, but is there some way to add sub-citations. For example:
    1 a Maeda et al, Chem Commun. etc. b Maeda et al, J Phys Chem B etc.

    I've Googled but can't find any even vague hints. Apparently EndNote doesn't do it (yet?!) but are going to include it. Any thoughts/suggestions welcome!
