ID: 771605703 Zotero could not find any identifiers in your input. Please verify your input and try

I get an error " Zotero could not find any identifiers in your input. Please verify your input and try again." every time I try and put a DOI (Have tried with multiple different DOI's)
  • Can you provide an example DOI and a Debug ID for reproducing it?
  • old ID for debugging:
    771605703

    I created a new one- 121912529
  • Those are Report IDs. We need a Debug ID. Follow the link for instructions.

    That DOI works for me.
  • Sure, this is the debug ID
    D282668927
  • Zotero could not find any identifiers in your input. Please verify your input and try again.
What exactly are you pasting in?
  • I am pasting in the DOI link
  • Reset your translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders section of the Zotero settings. If that doesn't help, we'd want to see a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option.
  • Okay, I tried again and it works now. So apparently when I use the copy link feature, it doesn't work, but when I trace it and use copy-paste it does work. This issue is resolved now

Yes, to be clear, a DOI URL isn't a DOI, and if you copy the actual link, you'll get an encoded version (with a %2F) that doesn't contain a valid DOI. When you highlight it, you're getting the visible text that contains the valid DOI (starting with "10.1007").

(You're not the first to do this, though, and we plan to make it accept DOI URLs in a future version.)

We've done this for the next Zotero 7 beta.
