Unable to Verify Server for WebDAV on iPad only, but works on iPhone and Desktop

Dear Zotero Community,

I have successfully used WebDAV to connect to cloud storage on my iPhone (Zotero v.1.0.31), and my Desktop, but not my iPad (Zotero v.1.0.40). When I attempt to Verify Server on my iPad, the loading wheel appears and remains there indefinitely without either establishing or failing to establish a connection. On my other two devices it successfully establishes a connection in perhaps 10 seconds or so. I've been able to use the full functionality of a WebDAV connection on iPhone and Desktop e.g. downloading a file locally that was uploaded on another device. Thank you very much in advance for any suggestions you may have as to the nature of this problem!

Best,

  • That's likely just a network or server issue, but can you provide a Debug ID for a Verify Server attempt that hangs?
  • Hi dstillman,

Thanks for your response! My initial suspicion was that the specific version of Zotero I was using on my iPad had some issue that was not replicated on my iPhone, which was running an older version of Zotero for iOS. Since you cannot manually select which app version to install on the Apple App Store, I simply used Test Flight to download the beta version of Zotero for iOS on my iPad, which solved all of my problems.

Perhaps this has nothing to do with the original problem and this was simply a coincidence.

    Regardless, Thank you.

  • That doesn't really make sense. You can always force an update to the latest version in the App Store if you haven't yet been auto-updated for some reason.

There's no difference between the current release version and the current beta.
