Upgrade Storage[Z7 beta] PDF viewer fails to register mouse click

Every PDF document that I open in the internal PDF viewer – including ones that I had previously annotated – now fails to respond to mouse clicks. After launching Zotero, I can click-and-drag or double-click on text in the PDF document with no active tool (or with the highlight tool active for similar results), and I can move my mouse to adjust a text selection. When I release the mouse button, the selection continues to move following my mouse. I can click again and again, and the selection never stops following my mouse, until I press the escape key on my keyboard. This cancels the selection without making a highlight. After pressing the escape key once, no further mouse clicks register in any PDF document until Zotero has been quit and relaunched. I can continue to scroll, but clicking has no noticeable effect in PDFs at this point. I am unable to make selections, highlights, or any other type of annotation on the PDF page.
After relaunching Zotero, the same issue reoccurs. I can make one single selection, but I cannot finalize the selection, then I click the escape key and the PDF becomes unresponsive to button presses. The issue is reproduced every time that I relaunch, even with all plugins disabled.
It makes no difference whether I am using my mouse or trackpad.
Clicking on the sidebar performs normally. Indeed behavior in the rest of the interface works normally as expected.
EDIT: rebooking my whole computer seems to have resolved the issue.
