Group of folders now empty (Zotero standalone Mac)

Hi. I hope someone can help me. The content of a set of folders disappeared about a week ago. The problem only affected the subfolders of a specific folder (called 'A. Ongoing'). Everything else is where it should be. The affected folders are folders where I collect references for ongoing writing projects. It is not only tedious but almost impossible to recall all the references.

    Are the items gone from the library altogether or still in the library root?

    If the former, you deleted a bunch of items from your desktop Zotero (or they were in the trash and were automatically removed after 30 days) on July 14th. If the latter, it looks like a large number of items were modified on the 15th. I'm afraid that's about all we can tell you.

    If you have Zotero on another computer that hasn't yet synced, or that only just synced these changes, you might be able to restore from one of the automatic backups Zotero makes.
