Upgrade StorageIssue with Apple Shortcut for Selected Text in PDF file

I’ve configured an Apple Shortcut to translate selected text. However, I’ve encountered an issue where the Shortcut behaves differently depending on the type of document. Specifically, while the Shortcut correctly handles text selected from HTML documents, it inaccurately captures text from PDF files, often sending fragments or previously selected text instead of the current selection.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an Apple Shortcut named “Show”.
2. Configure the Shortcut to display the input text.

3. Open Zotero and navigate to a PDF file.
4. Select the text.
5. Navigate through “Zotero” -> “Services” -> “Show” to activate the Shortcut.
6. Observe the output, which incorrectly displays previously selected text or fragments rather than the current selection.
Expected Result:
The Shortcut should display the exact text that was selected in the PDF file.

hung129188edited July 30, 2024After testing, the share selected text function works perfectly on iOS with PDFs, and on macOS with HTML and EPUB, but not with PDF files. It also works perfectly with PDF file notes (left side) but not well with the main area of PDF file.
