Zotero 7 Beta: slow, frequently unresposive

Approximately six weeks ago Zotero 7 Beta began to become quite laggy when opening PDFs and annotating them. This would be the case even if I only had one or two open. My system (info below) can handle far more than this.

The issue disappeared a few beta versions ago, but has seemingly re-emerged in the past week or so.

Any ideas? What other info can I give you? Thank you.

Zotero version: 7.0.0-beta.105+c5c613c82 (64-bit)

  • First make sure this happens after restarting Zotero with any plugins disabled.

If so, can you reproduce it after restarting Zotero with a single, small PDF in a single tab?

Hi, this happened to me too since yesterday I could not use Zotero 7 beta (7.0.0-beta.105+c5c613c82 (64-bit)) on Windows 11.
It keeps hanging and (Not Responding).
Uninstalled and disabled all plugins and it is working fine so far. It seems to me some issue with Better-Notes but not sure.
  • If you can reproduce a problem with a plugin, you should report it to the plugin developer.
  • Yes, just reenabled Better Notes and it happened again. Will report to the developer. Thanks.
