Help retriewing attached files
Hi everyone,
Recently my work-laptop (on which I use Zotero) crashed. The only way ICT-support could get the laptop running again was by completely rebooting it. Overall this isn't a big problem for my work, as all files that I work on are saved in a cloud,. As such I can again access all of them now that my laptop is running again. I am however facing a problem with Zotero.
After redownloading the software and syncing with my account I am unable to open the majority of the files that I previously attached to my sources. Whenever I click on a file, the following error message pops up: “The attached file could not be found”. The general support page on this issue (https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/files_not_syncing) does not help me, as the explanation offered there requires one to still have access to the laptop one originally uploaded the file with. As explained, however, this is not possible for me as I am still using the same (now rebooted) laptop.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue and know of a way to fix it? Or does this mean that I will simply not be able to access the previously attached files anymore?
I appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Felix

Upgrade Storage
If you delete the attachment items with the missing attachments, you can try using Find Available PDFs to download PDFs. That will work best if you're on a network or VPN connection with direct access to gated PDFs.
Thanks again,
