I am writing to inquire about the possibility of customizing the storage location for Zotero on macOS. Specifically, I would like to know if it is possible to store my Zotero library on an external USB drive. I am aware that this feature is available for the Windows version of Zotero, but I am uncertain if the same functionality is supported on macOS.

It's not platform-specific in any way.
If you do this, be very careful mounting and unmounting the disk. If you unmount while Zotero is open, you can corrupt the database.
