Zotero freezes on right click and menu interaction on Debian 12 (bookworm) and Gnome

I can launch Zotero and look through my library, but any time a menu might open (right click, interacting with menu buttons like edit, etc), it freezes and the only solution is to restart Zotero. I don't believe this is a GTK problem like https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/31858/zotero-standalone-408-and-4011-crashes-in-fedora-19-linux-when-any-menu-is-selected/#Comment_174354, as my GTK settings are set to Adwaita. I'm using Zotero version 6.0.35 from the snap store, but it also didn't work after installing from the .deb file hosted on the Zotero website.
  • Does opening context menus in Firefox work well? Could you try the Zotero Beta and see if it works there?
  • Thanks for the reply.

Firefox has also begun to freeze on me as well, and it seems I can't right click on it either.
Unfortunately, the Zotero Beta appears to have the same issues for me, in that it freezes if I click into any menus.
  • If Firefox also freezes for you, there is a some fundamental config issue on your distro/setup. Zotero is based on Firefox, and if you can get Firefox to stop freezing on right-click, Zotero will most likely too, but you will find troubleshooting Firefox easier in terms of getting help.
