ScienceDirect when not requesting PDF & import fails : more info on a known problem

edited June 29, 2024
I am outside my university system proxy and not wanting the PDF. I'm using Firefox 127.0.1.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0398762011003816

I previously attempted to download a selected number of items from the folder connector list. Neither individual items of a selection of about 1/3 of the items on the folder list will produce importable metadata.

With Zotero open, if I click on Cite and select Export citation to RIS to import the file to Zotero it silently fails. See debug

If I do not have Zotero open I can use cite to download the RIS file, open Zotero and import the RIS.

edit:
After quitting Zotero and restarting when I try to import the RIS file I have the "a File" radio button selected and when I click continue I get the Mendeley username box instead of the file select box. I sent a video of the problem to support@zotero.org It will be viewable on my MailDrop iCloud link for 30 days.

I hope that this might be helpful.
  • Transaction timeout, most likely caused by unresolved pending work.
It's just the same as your other thread(s) — there's a long-running operation that's breaking all sorts of things in your Zotero.
