Can't install Zotero on MacBook Pro m3pro edition

Hi,
I can't install Zotero on Mac book pro m3 pro edition please help me with this, thanks!
  • Please describe what happens in more details. On a Mac, you just need to open the .dmg file (with double-click) you dowloaded from Zotero website and drag Zotero to the Applications folder. See: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation#installation_instructions
  • Same problem with me. Got a brand new Macbook Pro M3. I install Zotero for Mac from the downloads page. It appears to install successfully. However, when I open the app it simply says, 'Done'. There is nothing else in the UI and when I click 'Done', it exits.
  • Hi,
The problem on my Mac is gone now, but I don't know what really helped, two things happened: one there was an update after a while for my new MacBook, second I tried one more time installing Zotero and some "installation of supports for Intel software?" popped up, after that is finished, now I can run everything normally. Hope this helps.
  • @poettli, my problem is not fixed. Shall I open a new post or can you reply here?

    Details of my Mac:

    Chip: Apple M3 Pro
    OS: Sonoma 14.5

I opened the contents of the Zotera installation directory. It contains a bunch of library files with the M3 suffixes expected.

I am attaching a screenshot of what I see.

I don't know what you're referring to here ("M3 suffixes"?), but something is wrong with your macOS installation — as you can see by the Settings icon, that's a dialog from macOS, not from Zotero. I'd guess it's a more broken version of the "Rosetta is not currently available in your country or region" dialog that some people have seen when macOS is unable to install Rosetta.

Best we can suggest is to 1) make sure you're connected to the internet, 2) try restarting your computer, 3) open Terminal and run /usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license, and 4) contact Apple if it's still not working. Or if none of that helps, you can use the Zotero 7 beta, which runs natively on Apple Silicon. (But Zotero 6 also works fine. This is just a bug in your macOS installation.)
  • The command

    usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license

fixed the issues. After I ran that and re-installed Zoterra, it is now working.

    Thanks
